In the course of this pivotal commission as Lead Architectural / Technical Adviser to the Client Representative – Lendlease Consulting – we advised Northamptonshire County Council on the rationalisation of their estate and the new build development of a 22,000 sqm Civic Administration HQ in the centre of Northampton.
As a central part of the ‘Project Angel’ core team we were seconded to the site team. Over the project life of five years, we worked on the strategic and final business cases, wrote the brief for the new building, managed consultants in the production of impact assessments and town centre regeneration plans, created the documentation for the appointment of design teams, evaluated submissions and undertook the comprehensive review of all drawings throughout construction. We also acted as workplace advisers, delivering the work team strategies, interior furniture layout and procurement strategy as well as assisting in moves management.
On completion, the Secretary of State for Housing, Community and Local Government, Sajid Javid, commented: “I have to say, it is absolutely fantastic. Buildings often represent their organisations. It is a bright, modern and forward-facing building. It is a place that is open and welcoming, in touch with the past and not afraid to embrace its future”View case study View video
