Built in 1958, the listed civic centre was closed in spring 2020 following the discovery of serious safety and structural issues requiring major repair work. Now, the proposed Haringey Civic Centre regeneration will give a valued heritage asset an extended lease of life in public service. It will see the Grade 2-listed building in Wood Green High Road refurbished and extended to enable it to become the council’s main offices, as well as providing new community and civic spaces, supporting the Council’s commitment to work towards a Zero Carbon estate. The works include the full refurbishment of existing Grade II listed Civic Centre building and construction of separate new-build office accommodation in the car park site at the rear of the Civic Centre building.
Consarc were appointed to support the council’s internal project team in their client role for the duration of the project to help formulate their client requirements, control costs within the approved budget, advise on procurement strategy, review proposals and report to the project board.
