Consarc were appointed to support the council’s internal project team with the regeneration and extension of Haringey Civic Centre. Having used RIBA Client Advisers on their Schools Programme, the council appreciated the benefits of the role. In particular, the client wanted us to help formulate their client requirements, return costs to the approved budget, advise on procurement strategy, set and track performance targets, detailed review of the tender documentation and report to the project board.
Having been developed without the benefit of the definitive accommodation strategy, the initial concept was far progressed and struggling to meet the brief and budget. We quickly completed a brief and successfully advised on the steps necessary to bring the project back into scope with a radical efficiency drive to keep the project deliverable. Our appointment extended through to tender as part of the council in-house client team.
